Emerging Technology, Part 1
New Technology
The article I read was about light-field photography. The article states that by using multiple lenses to capture the direction of light, the camera can create an image that can be focused after the photo is taken.
Assumptions that I made after reading the article were that these cameras will overtake our modern cameras. The use of light-field photography will make photographers' jobs much easier and also people who enjoy taking pictures as a hobby will also find these cameras much simpler.
The thing that surprised me the most was that pictures can be focused after they are taken. I can't imagine taking a photo that is focused on the wrong object and then all of the sudden being able to fix it!
The possibilties for the future in this area is focusing videos after they are shot. Maybe even 3-D pictures/videos!
Past Technology
A technology that was "emerging" back then that is regularly used now is Siri. Siri is now on iPhones that many people own. It's hard to imagine that in a span of only 4 years that an "emerging" technology is widespread across the country and in peoples' lives every day.
